Meet ADAPT: Valerie Eddy
Val is going on her 20th year at SCI. Before her time with us, she was a daycare provider for 18 years. She began her time at SCI as a Client Service Rep, was then promoted to Client Manager, and most recently she was promoted to Client Manager with SCI’s sister company, ADAPT Payroll.
“My goal is to be helpful and strive to do the best that I can.”
“I have the pleasure of talking with many of our existing SCI clients, since many of them are now coming on with the employee model for part or all of their business. It helps that we have had a relationship in the past, and they trust that we will always be looking out for them and give them help when needed. I feel the best job I can do is to provide our clients with information that will best help them grow their business in a safe way. I have always let them know I don’t have all the answers but that is why SCI/ADAPT has a team that can cover any question they have or can provide them help when needed. My goal is to be helpful and strive to do the best that I can.”
“My greatest joy is my family.” Val has been married for 43 years and has 4 children and 6 wonderful grandchildren and one more coming in September. They all live close by except for one of her son’s and his family with 2 grandsons in North Carolina which she misses but is so happy that they are doing well. She frequently takes trips to Disney to join her family for fun in the sun.
“I have had the pleasure of getting to know many clients where their children end up taking over the business or starting a new one so it feels like they are family.”
“I had a call today and the best thing the client said is that they trust us…I have had the pleasure of getting to know many clients where their children end up taking over the business or starting a new one so it feels like they are family. We have always had a great group to work with here at SCI and enjoyed sharing information to help any way I could. We have gone through many changes but always been treated like part of the SCI family.”
Val loves to cook and have the family over. She has a few family favorite dishes and has had fun teaching her older grandchildren the tricks that make the dish a little bit more special. She also loves playing cards with her family. “We have a card game, ROOK, that we have played since I was very young with my grandparents. I now play it with my adult children, and we teach my grandchildren so they can carry on the tradition.”
Val has always run concession stands for the Little League and Booster Club at her children’s High School for many years. “At one time we had a basketball team that included my 4 children and my husband playing on one team…I was voted the best team supporter…terrible at sports but great rooting them on.”
